Stainless Steel 904L is a high-alloy stainless steel that is suitable for welding. Its high molybdenum content increases its resistance to oxidizing and corrosion. This Stainless Steel alloy has additional copper content to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid. The Stainless Steel 904L Welded Tubes are also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. It is also resistant to chlorides and reductive acids. Stainless Steel 904L Welded Tubes are also a good choice for general corrosion applications. It has a yield strength of 220 MPa and tensile strength of 490 MPa. Its Rockwell B hardness rating is 70-90.
SS 904L Welded Tubes exhibit outstanding resistance to stress corrosion cracking, pitting, and crevice corrosion. It is a low-carbon stainless steel and is commonly used in oil and gas processing. This Stainless Steel 904L Welded Tube needs to be solution
treated following cold working, to achieve maximum stress corrosion cracking
resistance under critical environments. These Stainless Steel 904L Welded Tubes
does not require pre-heat and post-weld heat treatments. They are very useful
in areas like marine, chemical equipment, pharmaceuticals, paper and pulp
industry etc.
Stainless Steel 904L Welded Tube is non-magnetic and offers
excellent formability, toughness and weldability. Stainless Steel 904L Welded
Tubes have excellent resistance to warm seawater and chloride attack. The high
resistance of Stainless Steel 904L alloy against stress corrosion cracking is
due to the presence of high amounts of nickel in its composition. The addition
of copper to the alloy develops resistance to sulphuric acid and other reducing
agents in both aggressive and mild conditions.
