Stainless Steel 309 Seamless Tube has a high content of chromium and low nickel content which provides superior resistance to corrosion and oxidation at room temperatures then common austenitic 304 alloy. Due to its high chromium and low nickel content 309 Stainless Steel Seamless tubes can be utilized in sulfur containing atmospheres up to 1832°F (1000°C). However it is not recommended to be used in highly carburizing atmospheres since it exhibits only moderate resistance to carbon absorption. Stainless Steel 309 Seamless Tubes have higher tensile and yield strength that can be obtained through cold working. However this process is not followed by annealing. Hence they are not suitable for use at higher temperatures. These tubes are non-magnetic when they are annealed and become magnetic after cold working.
Stainless Steel 309S Seamless Tubes have a lower carbon composition when compared to Stainless Steel 309 Seamless Tube. This reduces carbide precipitation significantly and also improves the weldability of these tubes. This tube is utilised for its ease of fabrication. This tube is developed for enhanced creep resistance. The melting range of these tubes is between 1399 to 1454 degrees Celsius. These tubes are considerable cheaper when compared to high metal alloys.
The seamless tubes must be fabricated by using only high quality raw materials. These pies have great machinability. Only the latest tools, technologies and machines must be used to fabricate these Stainless Steel 309S Seamless Tubes.
