Inconel 601 is a nickel and chromium alloy containing the highest quality aluminium. The alloy has many good mechanical properties that keep it stable at high temperatures. Aluminium and other components contribute to excellent resistance to oxidation and other forms of high-temperature corrosion. Inconel 601 Pipes are highly resistant to oxidation and corrosion. They are suitable for high-temperature applications. In addition, they can handle gases containing sulphur. Inconel 601 Pipes are available in a variety of thicknesses.
These pipes are available in various sizes, according to customer requirements. Standard sizes are 15″ NB and up; their diameters range from 6.35 mm to 20 mm. They can also be fabricated to order. Inconel 601 pipes are used in high-temperature applications, such as furnace components, heat exchangers, and gas turbine parts. They are also used in chemical processing and thermal processing industries.
The chemical composition of Inconel 601 is as follows: Nickel (58.0-63.0%), Chromium (21.0-25.0%), Iron (Balance), Aluminum (1.0-1.7%), Carbon (0.10% max), Manganese (1.0% max), Silicon (0.5% max), Sulfur (0.015% max) & Phosphorus (0.015% max).
Inconel 601 pipes can operate in temperatures up to 1200°C (2200°F) in oxidizing atmospheres & up to 1150°C (2100°F) in reducing atmospheres.
