The L after grade 317 indicates that the Stainless steel 317L Tubes is a lower carbon containing alloy. Stainless steel 317L Tubes are perfect to use in corrosive environments. These tubes have stronger welds due to the low carbon content. These tubes have some excellent properties such as thermal conductivity, expansion, electrical resistivity, modulus elasticity, density, specific heat. Even the Stainless steels 317 tube is the most corrosion-resistant tube in the 300 Series alloys and possesses the highest tensile and creep strength properties at higher temperatures.
